Menstrual cycle

February 1st, 2011

I noticed that some visitors were not very clear about the principle of intercourse in safe period to avoid pregnancy. From now on, I will release some articles to demonstrate it.

First of all, we should know what is the menstrual cycle.

Menstrual cycle is a recurring cycle in which the endometrial lining of the uterus prepares for pregnancy; if pregnancy does not occur the lining is shed in menstrual period.

It is the scientific term for the physiological changes that can occur in fertile females, beginning at menarche (typically around age 12) and ending at menopause (commonly occurs between 45 and 55) . In menstrual period, blood flow from the uterus through the vagina. This kind of overt menstruation occurs primarily in humans and some other animals such as chimpanzees. In the menstrual cycle, changes occur in the female reproductive system as well as other systems. For example,  breast tenderness or mood changes. But we are not talking these phenomena.

What we are interesting in is when females could get pregnancy and when not. For talking about this, we should consider the menstrual cycle as three period: safe periodovulatory period and menstrual period. A female is fertile  in her ovulatory period and infertile in her safe period. You should choose the day of safe period to have sexual intercourse if you do not expecting a baby.

“How about menstrual period?” May somebody asked.

“Oh my god, you can not do it! Otherwise you will not get your baby forever!”
